The belt is required as the Y axis is much further out than stock. Sadly I have genuine Gates belts so not fitted until they wear out. The idlers are just about ok quality - they work but they are eccentric and will rub against the housing without suitable shim washers. If you want an upgrade you might have to upgrade this upgrade. The aluminium pieces are decently made.
